Colloque GANIL 2011
The XVIIth "Colloque GANIL" will be held from September 25th to 30th, 2011 in Belgodère (Corsica, France).
The purpose of the conference is to review and discuss the research carried out at GANIL and the related activities carried out at similar facilities around the world.
Traditionally the Colloque will cover the range of topics addressed at GANIL :
- Nuclear structure
- Reaction mecanism
- Nuclear astrophysics
- Weak interaction
- Interdisciplinary research
A particular emphasis will be put this year on “low energy physics with stable and radioactive beams @GANIL today and tomorrow; interplay between theory and experiment”.
The workshop will be held in the resort Belambra village “Golfe de Lozari”, a seaside village close to Calvi. The conference will provide full board and lodging to participants from September 25 (Sunday dinner) to September 30, (Friday lunch). A few grants covering half of living expenses at Belgodère will be available for graduate students. In order to preserve the informal character of the Colloque and to stimulate presentation of innovative ideas, no proceedings will be published. Review talks are planned with ample time scheduled for discussion. These reviews will be followed by shorter contributions presenting the latest results. We encourage you to prepare contributions in the above-mentioned areas of physics. The organizing committee will select the contributions for oral presentation. A number of presentations will be allotted to contributions given by graduate students. The morning and late-afternoon sessions will give plenty of time for presentations. To favor the informal exchanges in a relaxed atmosphere afternoons will be free of talks.
As usual, we also ask the interested persons to stay for the full 5 days of the workshop, in order to increase the interactions among participants.
