High Resolution Gamma-ray Spectroscopy at GANIL

GANIL, June 21-23, 2010

High Resolution Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy Workshop
GANIL, June 21-23, 2010

The EXOGAM array has been intensively used at GANIL in recent years. In addition, the EXOGAM and AGATA communities have contributed to the scientific program for the future SPIRAL2 facility at GANIL, initially through the preparation of the general physics case LoIs and more recently via experimental LoIs for the SPIRAL2 Phase 1 scientific program.
The EXOGAM Steering Committee and the High Resolution Gamma Spectroscopy at SPIRAL2 conveners consider that the first half of 2010 provides an excellent opportunity to hold a workshop to present the most recent results from EXOGAM and to look towards the future. With the latter in mind, October will be the deadline for the letters of intent for first day experiments with radioactive beams from SPIRAL2. It is therefore felt to be very timely to hold a workshop at GANIL (21-23 June) to focus on the past successes and future plans.

Over the three days it is planned to devote time for:
  • results and future plans for EXOGAM
  • updates to the existing SPIRAL2 High Resolution Spectroscopy scientific program with the SPIRAL2 phase 1 and radioactive beams experimental LoIs.

The workshop will start on Monday, June 21 at 2pm and will finish on Wednesday, June 23 at 4 pm.

Bob Wadsworth and G de France (on behalf of the EXOGAM SC),
A Gadea (spokesperson for the High resolution spectroscopy letter of intent)
