NFS neutrons beams, with their energy between 1 and 40 MeV and their very high intensity, will be unique tool to study the influence of excitation energy on the fission process. Influence of excitation energy can be felt on most observables of fission like charge and mass distribution of the fragments, total kinetic energy and particle multiplicity but it is better revealed by the measurement of the correlation between these observables.

Despite the high intensity of available beams,  the state-of-the art detector for fission that is going to be use in NFS, Falstaff, will not be able to do such measurement because of its limited efficiency of 0,65%. Other experimental techniques used for measurement of neutron multiplicity cannot be used at NFS because of the too high excitation energy. Facing the experimental challenges that these measurements represent I propose, in the framework of the ERC, a new detector that will have an efficiency close to 100% while providing us with atomic number identification, total kinetic energy measurement and neutron time-of-flight determination.
