LA3-NET

The European project "Lasers for Applications at Accelerators: A Marie Curie Initial Training Network "(LA3-NET) has been accepted for funding by the European Commission in early June 2011, under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) which includes all EU initiatives related to research.

LA3-NET is a network of Marie Curie program bringing together 11 European laboratories, including GANIL. This project will train together PhD students on the subject of lasers. During their PhD, the PhD students have the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and experience with each of the laboratories as well as to many industrial partners involved in the project.

Nathalie Lecesne is the main participant of the LA3-NET project at GANIL. She will host a PhD student from autumn 2012 and will oversee the organization of a school dedicated to lasers in 2013.

The signature of the LA3-NET project, expected in early 2012, will allow the receipt of a first part of the project funding (out of about 3 846 k € - still under negotiation - of which about 226 k € for GANIL).
