An overview of our experimental program at GANIL aiming to extract the spatial configuration of exotic systems will be presented. After the first application of the interferometry technique to probe neutron-neutron distances, we will see how this femtometer can serve also as a chronometer to probe both the space and time dimensions of a dissociation through results of 8He breakup. Finally, we will discuss the sensitivity of the technique to states in the continuum with data on 6He and 14Be, and present the short term perspectives of this program at RIKEN.
