Interactive Chart of nuclei
The chart contains data (isotope, energy, intensity etc.) related to the currently available and future beams at the GANIL/SPIRAL1/SPIRAL2 facility.
The data are given for each element in a file that can be consulted on-line and downloaded as a pdf file.
The term “Prod. or pred.” (which means produced or predictable) in the legend and in data files means beams that were already produced in the existing GANIL facilities (stable and radioactive) or those to be produced in existing or future GANIL facilities (upgrade of SPIRAL1 and SPIRAL2). In this last case, beam characteristics are the best approximations than can be done today.
Radioactive ion beams produced at GANIL by in-flight projectile fragmentation at the LISE spectrometer are not (yet!) indicated in this chart but they can be calculated using the code LISE: http://groups.nscl.msu.edu/lise/lise.html
Please do not hesitate to consult GANIL for any further information or improvements related to this chart or the associated data set at chart-beams@ganil.fr
Data files are given for GANIL (stable), SPIRAL1 (radioactive), SPIRAL2-DAY1, LINAC (stable in SPIRAL2) and S3.
SPIRAL2-DAY1 presents the prediction of beams and their intensities that will be produced in the first use of SPIRAL2 with a reduced primary beam power (50 kW of 40 MeV deuteron on a reduced size low-density carbide uranium target).
Nominal beams (200 kW of 40 MeV deuteron on high density carbide uranium target) will be added later to this chart.
A detailed information on the Super Separator-Spectrometer (S3) can be found at : http://pro.ganil-spiral2.eu/spiral2/instrumentation/s3/s3-at-ganil
